An ISU Code of Ethics for Collaborative Research

Given lessons learned from past research, Idaho State University has developed the following guiding statements:

• Authentic collaboration occurs throughout the research process, beginning even in co-developing research questions and engaging Tribal citizens and governments in all research processes, including budgeting, research methods development, recruiting participants, data analysis, and publication. 
• Collaborative research entails respecting Tribal data sovereignty and the right to editorial review of publications.
• Collaborative research is reciprocal and benefits all research partners and communities.
• Engaging Native American students in the research process supports reciprocal research and Tribal sovereignty through training Native students who can then conduct future research with and for their Nations.
