4 Prerequisite Knowledge and Skills
Prerequisite Knowledge
This course provides students with an overview of instrumentation, units of measure, unit conversions, calibration fundamentals, and commonly used devices to measure process variables.
It is expected that students enter this course with the ability to:
- Perform mathematical calculations which include: ratios, fractions, percentages, arithmetic, and algebra.
- Apply fundamentals of Ohm’s Law and general concepts associated with electrical and electronic circuits.
- Apply critical thinking skills to analyze, construct, and troubleshoot different types of systems.
- Utilize various technical documents such as diagrams, datasheets, and procedures.
This course builds on the following prerequisite courses:
- ESET1100
- ESET1101 or ESET1121
- ESET1140
