Upon completion of this module, students will be able to:

  • Define fluid, liquid and gas
  • Describe the characteristics of liquids and gasses
  • Describe fluid mechanic principles for static and dynamic systems (Pascal’s Law and Bernoulli’s Theorem)
  • Define Fluid Properties (Density, SG, Viscosity, Reynolds)
  • Describe Fluid Flow Characteristics (Laminar, Critical, Turbulent)
  • Identify the classification of pump
  • List the components of a centrifugal pump
  • Utilize pump curves to determine system head and flow parameters.
  • Describe the relationship between fluid flow and head loss in a piping system
