8 Monitoring Your Progress

This course uses Activity Completion, which shows you exactly what is expected in order for the activities to be marked complete. This is for you as a student to keep track of where you are in the course. While I do look at the reports, I do not use this feature to determine whether or not you have successfully completed items. Successful completion is determined by your grades and feedback. The “Mark as done” buttons are items you can mark as completed. These tend to be content resources you may wish or need to refer to several times before you consider you are “done” with them. Therefore, it is up to you to check the box when you feel you are done. Other activities and resources will be marked complete when you meet certain criteria.

Troubleshooting

If an activity is not marked complete, first refresh the page. If you use the “back button” you will see the “old” view of the page and you want to see the updated version. To do so, you should refresh the page.

  • Locate the refresh button in your browser (usually a circle with an arrow).
  • Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • Press “Ctrl + F5” or press “Ctrl + Shift + R” (Windows, Linux)
  • Press “Command + Shift + R” (Mac)
Completion Progress Block

The block helps you see how much you have completed in the course. It is tied to the activity completion throughout the course.

  • Blue = an upcoming item
  • Yellow = you have submitted work but are waiting for feedback
  • Red = the item is past the expected due date
  • Green = the item has been checked off
